This mural experienced significant fading and peeling, and was deaccessioned when Thornton razed the building to make room for a new, expanded Community Center.
"One Great Humanity" covers social topics such as bullying, drinking, peer pressure, self-image, and identity. The purpose of this mural is to make kids think about the issues that affect their everyday lives and to grow in consciousness. Local high school students were selected to study, design, and help Tanguma paint sections of the mural. The design begins with images of youth wearing dehumanized offensive "masks". Imagery progresses upwards, the depiction changes to positive representations of young people. Two prominent silhouette like figures are engaged in animated conversation, both extending a hand to drop colorful hearts, like seeds into the soil. Representing the coming together of people to plant love and understanding.
