The photo is of a friendly New Orleans East corner store clerk at an establishment called Habibi on Hayne Blvd. Many New Orleanians know that the corner store is a one-stop shop for great food, convenience, and house hold items, great laughs and entertainment, and almost anything else you can think of. When people view this photo, I want them to feel the excitement of ordering their first corner store po-poy or their first sip of a big shot. This is another light, another treasured aspect of our culture found in New Orleans East.
