In my piece, I wanted to share how transformative love is to a child who's often disregarded. Many times, black boys are devalued in society, school, and unfortunately the home. However, with love and nurturing, joy can be found. My painting is a visual depiction of how love has touched the soul of this little boy and has ignited the glow of joy within. He has been reminded of his positive character and importance to our world. It takes a village to raise the children and we're all responsible for pouring positivity into their lives. Joy lives within these children, but sometimes it needs to be ignited . The radiance of his joy serves as a reminder of how love can create "Black Boy Joy"!
