George Dureau’s work is infused with the personalities, mythologies, and ceremonies of life in New Orleans. This painting celebrates the colorful pageantry of Mardi Gras past and present in our city.
The oil on canvas composition consists of three separate panels: two 8’6” x 6’6” and one 8’6” x 10, all designed specifically to be placed in the large ballroom of Gallier Hall facing St. Charles Avenue.
