One of the rich history and cultural events that is steep in Black New Orleans tradition is the love of music by the “second lines” of the brass bands. I started this body of work during the early stages of the global pandemic, realizing it was more than my love of the brass band traditions; in fact, it was about a "loss" for us all. In "A Requiem from NOLA", it is a memorial to all who we have lost in this past year. I wanted to achieve a "surreal" friction and a harmony in the same space that creates a universality of humanity.
