An African American male, Mark Gale, holds his work tool, a sugar cane knife. The image is blue and was made from my color transparency which was waterlogged during hurricane Katrina. This image of a young Black man is a testament to the continued cruel and horrible conditions of what slavery was in Louisiana. Though current, the image is timeless and shows that nothing much has changed in Louisiana.
