Originally created for the Living School, students learned the history of heroes in Bulbancha (New Orleans) from local historians. Students got to nominate heroes who they wanted to see on the wall to look up to every day. They elected Henriette DeLille from New Orleans East and Chance the Rapper from Chicago for their work celebrating and supporting children of color. Then, students worked with two local artists to paint the mural. When Living School closed, it donated the artwork to the City of New Orleans.
