Daydream, created in 2015 by Milagros Collective artists Felici Asteinza and Joey Fillastre, is a vibrant, large-scale mural that brings a “pop of cheer” to Library visitors, transit riders, and nearby hospital staff and patients. Inspired by the Allen Toussaint song of the same name, which the artists listened to on repeat while painting, the mural was completed over the course of a month after Milagros won a public vote to realize their design through a special grant.

Installed on the façade of the Main Library, the work was the first of three library murals commissioned by Arts New Orleans, marking the beginning of a public art series that connects culture, community, and everyday life.
