"Breathing" addresses the pervasive anxiety faced by New Orleanians during hurricane season. Through its illusionistic techniques, this work visualizes the tension and uncertainty that comes with living in a city prone to natural disasters. The piece layers textures and colors to create a palpable sense of unease and anticipation, mirroring the emotional turbulence experienced by those preparing for and enduring the challenges of hurricanes. As the artwork shifts and transforms with each angle, it reflects the constant state of vigilance and adaptation required in the face of nature’s unpredictability. "Breathing" invites viewers to confront and empathize with the profound emotional impact of these seasonal trials on the community.
