Bruce Brice’s A Visit To The Nature Center shows the wide variety of activities available at the Audubon Institute’s nearby Louisiana Nature Center for visitors of all ages. Mr. Brice is a self-taught New Orleans artist who draws his subject matter from the colorful street life of his city and the celebration of local customs. His paintings demonstrate a native delight in color and the decorative all-over pattern of a quilt. His intent with this 8’ x 24’ mural is to depict families in harmony with themselves, one another, and nature, and to awaken in our children the importance of nature preservation that can be developed through reading and the “hands on” experiences available at the Nature Center.
