New Orleans native Owen Murphy has been a Photographic Instructor for more than 20 years. He has been photographing various aspects of the Louisiana Creole culture since 1978 as an ongoing documentary project. The recovery of New Orleans since Hurricane Katrina has been a main documentary photography project.
Murphy co-founded the non-profit arts organization, the New Orleans Photo Alliance, and served as the first president for 2 years.
