
Born in Hammond, Louisiana, Michael Ledet is a mostly self-taught painter who worked in a frame shop before becoming an apprentice for Ida Kohlmeyer. Ledet creates a variety of works, he prefers to create two-dimensional art. However, three-dimensional objects, like antique pottery, can still be seen in his work.
Ledet’s work can be seen in the El Paso Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art and the Louisiana Art and Science Museum.
