Queens Metal's roots can be traced back to a tiny apartment in New York City. Artist Krista DeJoseph envisioned creating a line of jewelry identifiable by its mixture of masculine and feminine, and its clean, industrial lines. Deep into the night, while her roommates slept, DeJoseph played with shapes and experimented with metalsmithing techniques, eventually fabricating her first jewelry collection. She named her company "Queens Metal" after the NYC borough she loved, and added the slogan, "Bold Jewelry for Fearless Women." More than a dozen years later, Queens Metal has relocated from NYC, but has stayed true to it's roots.
