Emily Lovejoy is a New Orleans based artist. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with an emphasis on painting from the University of New Orleans in 2012. Lovejoy mainly examines identity, thought and emotions through her work, which centers on surreal portraiture. In 2017 she began exploring abstracts and it has become an integral part of her work. The brush strokes, pallets, and compositions are all intuitive and rarely planned out. “I like to zone out and let my hands do whatever they want.” The abstracts have evolved over the past few years as Lovejoy has played various styles and processes.
