Cecil Tanet Rimes, Jr., was born in Magnolia, Mississippi. He was a graduate of William Carey College in Hattiesburg where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. In the 1990s, he was co-owner of Icons Gallery in New Orleans with Renee Allie. Rimes was a well known freelance photographer in the art community and many of his photo collections are on display in New Orleans, Jackson, Meridian, and Hattiesburg. In 2008, Mr. Rimes received the prestigious Visual Arts Fellowship and Artist Mini Grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission.
