Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1853

Contains 1855 bookplate belonging to Quaker Mary Whitall [later Thomas] (1836-88) from, and published by, married couple Robert Pearsall Smith and Hannah Whitall Smith. Robert was a glass manufacturer and map publisher. Hannah and Mary were sisters. Mary Whitall Thomas' daughter, Martha Carey Thomas (1857-1935), became president of Bryn Mawr College.
