Pertains to the lawsuit between Whistler and Sir William Eden regarding an 1894 portrait of Lady Eden. Sir William commissioned Whistler to paint the portrait and paid him, but Whistler refused to give the portrait up after exhibiting it in Paris. Eden then sued Whistler, money was returned, and the painting was desecrated by Whistler.
