1/6 plate daguerreotype likely depicting Mary Anne Racey Gore Westphal (1812-81) of Quebec and Hove, England. The label misidentifies her as Mary Augusta Westphal (1850-70), Mary Anne's daughter. In 1849, Mary Anne Racey Gore married George Augustus Westphal (1785-1875), midshipman on the HMS Victory in the Battle of Trafalgar.
