Possible portrait of Laurent-Olivier David (1840-1926), a French-Canadian journalist and politician. David was closely acquainted with composer Calixa Lavallée, who was credited with writing the Canadian National Anthem. Lavallée was honored in Cleveland, Ohio at the 1884 and 1892 (posthumous) Music Teachers National Association meetings. If Laurent-Olivier David had visited Cleveland, the reason likely pertained to Lavallée.
