1/4 plate ambrotype depicting David Campbell Van Eps (1802-85) and his wife, Cataline Van Patten Van Eps (1804-89). The Van Eps family lived in Glenville, New York. David Van Eps was a farmer and violinist. He was known to perform violincello at the Dutch Reformed Church in Glenville. Many of the Van Eps children also excelled at musical instruments.
