1/9 plate ruby ambrotype with note identifying the sitter as George Van Sickle (1849-1920) of Cayuga, New York, youngest son of Garrett Van Sickle. Identification is spurious based on the age of the ambrotype and mat substrate. Not likely to be George, but perhaps another member of the Van Sickle family.
