Revelation of the Softness Within is a slender steel rectangle with an oblong void in the middle. Along the edges of this void knitted fiber is connected with the metal, stretching across the blank space between the steel surfaces. The knitted fiber stretches in a tube, corner to corner of the piece, stretching and held into 3D space by its own tension. The piece explores the question of identity and place, how a think is categorized when it is made up of such disparate materials, and what it means to be a think that holds characteristics on the extremes of multiple spectrums.
