This piece was one of my first landscapes. I combined several different references to create my own 'place', and used unconventional patterns and colors as well as incorporated fabric collage to be consistent with my dreamlike aesthetic. It led to a largescale commission for a local business of a favorite local garden depicted in this similar style. I aim for viewers to feel a sense of serenity wash over them as they gaze into this landscape.
