Artist’s Statement: This artwork depicts a despondent figure sitting on the edge of a way out. The surrounding is literally the path to changing things...to “attain greatness.” A figure is materializing out of the building to reach down and help this figure take that step to find a way out...In this artwork, I reference the fact that there are existing structures (support systems) that can help pull you up when everything feels so impossible and like you will never be able to change things yourself. You just need to accept that help, and sometimes find the help that is out there.
