I always liked the fairy tale about Peter Pan, I even made costumes for a ballet based on this story. But imagine my surprise when I came to Scotland and saw this statue in the centre of Kirriemuir! From that moment on, I couldn't get the idea out of my head to paint a picture in which the main character would be Peter Pan. I wanted to combine two fairy tales - snow and the legend of a boy who didn't want to grow up.
