Travelling by car through the Tweed Valley, I stopped to have some lunch and took a short walk-about with my sketch book and camera. There were some cows enjoying the warmth of the afternoon sun, laying amongst the trees close to the river bank, and chewing the lush grass. I painted this small work in the studio from the sketches and photographs I took that afternoon. The painting is professionally framed in a speckled gold/wood frame with a dark green mount.
