There are times when special everyday moments stay in the memory to be recalled in the years ahead. Splash! is one of those paintings that was created from one of those special memories. It is an abstract painting but is you look closely enough you will see the little red wellington boot that was the pride and joy of my very first foster placement - a just turned three year old and her 17 month old brother. They were both bought wellingtons (we lived down a very muddy track off a country lane) and the little girl in particular loved to go out splashing in puddles.
