Inspired by the my love of walking through sand dunes, particularly of the dunes at Southwold, Suffolk where I lived for several years. This scene could be found in many seaside places throughout the UK. The painting was painted mainly from memory with the additional reference material such as sketches and my own photographs. I have used encaustic wax on acid-free mountboard which has absorbed the wax. This painting should not be hung in direct or strong sunlight nor over any heat source such as fires or radiators.
