Produced using acrylic paints on a gel plate. Various methods of creating shapes and textures were applied then imprinted on book page 19 from The Seven Daughters Of Eve by Prof. Bryan Sykes [London, Bantam Press. 2001]. This was part of the Project 'What Does An Artist Do All Day' where I wrote daily logs about the artwork I was creating, how I developed each piece and the discoveries I made along the way. This piece just seemed to emerge from the work table and once complete I felt it had the feel of the ancient Egyptian civilisations about it, hence the title Nubian. The character that emerged within this piece made me think of a pilgrimage and so the 'Nubian Pilgrim' was born.
