I was inspired to paint this scene from my many walks round Forfar Loch. It was painted in my studio from photographs I had taken and drawings made in my sketch book. A small oil on board study was undertaken before completing this painting. This scene is from the far end of the Loch, standing on the bridge with the A90 behind. It was a beautifully clear day where colours just seemed to pop out in front of me. Forfar Loch has a well maintained path and is a circular walk of approximately 4km. It is suitable for all as there are no hills, slopes or difficult terrain to manage. The loch is located in a well presented family orientated park to the west of the town and is only a few minutes walk from the centre.
