Painted in winter, on a snowy cold grey day. Was out walking the dogs and couldn't wait to get home to my cosy fire. So was inspired to paint a painting of that cold and stormy wintery day, and how we retreat to our own sanctuary in a storm. The highland bothy in this painting represents a sanctuary, a safe place where we feel both physically and mentally safe from the storm outside.
