With these porcelain vessels I play with the materiality of the clay body. Layering different repetitive processes the vessel is first thrown on the wheel, then shaped by hand, carved into, smoothed, fired, sometimes glazed internally and then polished. This allows the material qualities of the porcelain, the different processes utilised and my subconscious to direct the final outcome and allow each piece to ‘become’. But it is the viewer who adds the finishing touch by bringing their own associations and experiences to interpret what they see and feel.
