Lidded toiletry dish, 9 x 3 x 3 inches. Brown transfer with polychrome clobbering. Printed maker's mark for Thomas Booth & Co. Registry diamond indicates a pattern registration date of 15 February 1869. This pattern features goldfish and waterlily flowers and leaves beneath a net connected by a rope border. Each side of the dish body features a cluster of waterlily blooms and leaves.

Thomas Booth & Co. was an earthenware and ironstone manufacturer at the Knowles Works in Burslem, Staffordshire, England and the Church Bank Works in Tunstall, Staffordshire, England. Thomas Booth originally worked at the Knowles Works from 1864 as Evans & Booth. Around 1868 he worked on his own account as Thomas Booth & Co. at the Knowles Works and around 1870 relocated to the Church Bank Works. He died in 1872 and his son, Thomas Gimbert Booth, took over the business on his account. The title became Thomas Booth & Son (1872-1876).
