Plate, 7.5 inches diameter. Brown transfer with polychrome clobbering. Maker is Cumberlidge & Humphreys. Printed registry diamond dates the registration of this pattern to 21 April 1875. This pattern features a branch with blooming flowers and foliage descending from the top with four overlaid cartouches. The fan-shaped cartouche depicts a landscape scene with a bridge over water bordered by two geometric in-filled panels. The rectangular cartouche depicts a vase with flowers and the two circular cartouches feature a lighthouse and a sailboat. The border consists of a repeated stylized half-flower bordered on top and bottom by a simple geometric pattern line.

The original partners were William Myatt Cumberlidge and Joseph Humphreys, who worked from 1880 to 1885 at the Well Street Pottery, Tunstall. In 1886 they moved to the Gordon Pottery, Tunstall. In 1889 they took on George Frederick Helé as partner and traded at the Gordon Works under the name Cumberlidge, Humphreys & Helé. At the end of 1890 Helé left the business, which returned to Cumberlidge & Humphreys. John Humphreys Jr. joined the business and in October 1893 Cumberlidge left. The business continued as Humphreys Brothers.
