This lidded dish was originally part of a toilet service, which was a set of objects used at the dressing table. The pattern consists of a combination of geometric and floral motifs. The decorative band placed around the side of the dish consists of interlocking circles superimposed over mirrored hearts filled with solid circles. The lid features a Chinese-inspired lattice or fretwork design with alternating floral motifs. The border is a simple scalloped line with solid circles.
