This 12.5 x 15.5 inch photograph depicts a city-scape/ water-scape of New York City. The water takes up over half of the composition from the bottom of the print and is mostly calm, with small ripples visible. A small boat makes its way through the water, entering from the bottom right-hand corner and heading towards the vast New York City scape that is pictured past the water. The boat leaves a trail of waves and ripples behind it as it heads for the city; creating an overall sense of adventure, and a yearning for opportunity and new experiences. The city scape in the background is out of focus and a little blurry, while the boat and the water that is depicted are both in focus and clear. A large bridge is visible, going from the city, over the water and is cut off by the left hand side of the print, unknown to the viewer as to where the other side of the bridge ends. The endless view of skyscrapers and buildings reflect the grandness of New York City, aiding in creating that sense of opportunity and expansiveness.
